Rick MillerRichard H. Miller is a philosopher and the Dean of the Undergraduate Academic and Graduate Programs at UNCSA.  He received a B.A cum laude from Colgate University in 1967 and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Columbia University in 1979.  He has taught philosophy and the history of ideas at UNCSA since 1972.

His research interests include later medieval philosophy, especially the thought of John Buridan, metaphysics (especially the problem of free will), ethics,  the philosophy of art, and epistemology.
