Summer Festival Jazz Repertory Orchestra at UNCSA

University of North Carolina School of the Arts presents an intensive three-week big band jazz program for dedicated jazz students and young adults. Led by Ron Rudkin, veteran jazz musician, and Director of Jazz Studies at UNCSA.
Join us for a dynamic musical experience on the beautiful UNCSA campus as we launch our inaugural year in 2012.
Program Highlights:
- Performing an extensive collection of essential big band literature from the swing era through the second half of the 20th century
- Featuring music by the most renowned big bands, jazz composers, arrangers, musicians, and song-writers
- Five concerts in just three weeks
- Emphasizing critical skills required for real-world professional performance
- Sight Reading and concentrated performance preparation
- Big band style and ensemble performance
- Improvisation and combo coaching available
- Performance venues on and off campus
